Crochet Valentine Flowers

Fun! Easy! This project makes a great Valentine or even a fun Decoration for the kitchen.  Make one to give away or make a whole boutique to put in a vase to add to your décor.

It is fun that Phoebe has taken this one over. It is a new year and I am thinking that this is a going to be a good year. Valentines Day is not for a little while but this year I want to go all out for it (decoration wise) I love Valentines day not because the celebration of love but because I think hearts or so Freaking fun!

Materials: One Plastic Floral Flower, Size 10 Thread colors: Pink and Red, Crochet Hook size 1.30 mm, Poly-Fill.

SL = Slip Crochet
SC – Single Crochet
HDC = Half Double Crochet
DC = Double Crochet
TR = Treble Crochet

With Red Thread:
Base: CH 4
Row 1: 2 SC in 1st sp, 1 SC, 2 SC in last sp, CH 1, turn.
Row2: 5 SC, CH 1, turn.
Row 3: 2 SC in 1st sp, 3 SC, 2 SC in last sp, Ch1, turn.
Row 4: 7 SC, Ch 1, turn.
Row 5: 2 SC in 1st sp, 5 SC, 2 S in last sp, CH 1, turn.
Row 6: 9 SC, CH 1, turn.
Row 7: 2 SC in 1st sp, 7 SC, 2 SC in last sp, CH 1, turn.
Row 8: 11 SC, CH 1, turn.
Row 9: 2 SC in 1st sp, 9 SC, 2 SC in last sp, CH 1, turn.
Row 10: 13 SC, Ch 1, turn.
Row 11: 2 SC in 1st sp, 11 SC, 2 SC in last sp, CH 1, turn.
Row 12: 15 SC, CH 1, turn.
Row 13: 2 SC in 1st sp, 13 SC, 2 SC in last sp, Ch 1, turn.
Row 14: 17 SC, Ch 1, turn.
Row 15: 2 SC in 1st sp, 15 SC, 2 SC in last sp, CH 1, turn.
Row 16: 19 SC, Ch 1, turn.
Row 17: 2 SC in 1st sp, 17 SC, 2 SC in last sp, CH 1, turn.
Row 18: 2 SC in 1st sp, 19 SC, 2 SC in last sp, CH 1, turn.
Row 19-22: 23 SC, CH 1, turn.
Row 23: 10 SC, SC2tog, Ch 1, turn.
Row 24-25: 11 SC, CH1, turn.
Row 26: SC2tog, 7 SC, SC2tog, CH 1, turn.
Row 27-28: 9 SC, CH 1, turn.
Row 29: SC2tog, 5 SC, SC2tog, CH 1, turn.
Row 30: SC3tog, 1 SC, SC3tog, Tie off.

Turn Motif and attach Red thread to 1st SC sp on Row 22.
Rows 31- 37: Rep Rows 23-30.

Make one more Heart by repeating Rows 1-37.

Next, place both hearts together and SC around from top center crease, SC the hearts going through both layers at once. Leave small opening and fill with Poly-Fill and then Finish SC around, SL to 1st SC made, Change color to Pink CH 1, turn.

With Pink:* SK 1 SC sp, 5DC in next sp, sk 1 sp, 1 SC, Rep around the heart.

Finally, Take a Stem of Floral Rose Flowers and Cut off a Stem, pull off the flower, and replace it with heart. Depending on how tight you crochet the heart it should fit snugly or if you wish you can use a glue to keep it from fall off the stem.
